Some organizations consider taking the plunge off of big iron PBX platforms into IP telephony as being pretty daring, but that's nothing compared to what Sam Houston State University (SHSU) is doing. Singapore housing saves money with Linux

As part of the drive to cut costs and future
saving, Singapore Housing Development Board decided to migrate its
business applications on the Internet and intranet to Linux as its
strategic operating system. To leverage on the existing zSeries platform in HDB,
a tender was called for the consolidation effort. IBM proposed the
eServer zSeries and xSeries as its main consolidated server platform.
